Christmas Eve: Midnight in Taipei and I'm sitting staring up at the dark azure blue sky with it's perfect white clouds. There are six clear plastic glasses of champagne on a white patio table. The night is warm enough that occasional mosquitos zero in on our party. The sounds of other people celebrating drifts dimly through the enormous park. In the distance there are couples walking hand in hand. University students jostle playfully with each other, calling out merrily "Merry Christmas." Without thinking of my companions I pull out my camera and begin taking pictures in the dark. Both these two second exposures both make me smile.
